On the way to Russia, why not take the
opportunity to discover these three fascinating countries
which are packed with places to see, and which still
retain their cherished traditions.
|
Lithuania
Vilnius
- The old capital of Lithuania has a fascinating history and
boasts fine architecture and friendly people. Situated near
the River Neris on numerous hills and surrounded by green
forests and blue lakes, Vilnius is sometimes called the "Nothern
Athens".
Latvia
Riga -
The capital of Latvia, this old Hanseatic city was once a
great trade centre. Its Old Town is a labyrinth of tangled
cobblestone streets, old merchant houses, lofty church spires
and parks.
Estonia
Tallinn
- This is the enchanting capital of Estonia. The fabulous
medieval Old City with its dim alleys, narrow cobbled streets,
slender spires and crumbling colour-washed building holds
new surprises around every corner, and remains virtually untouched
by the twentieth century.
